Healthy Mind Program (HMP)
Healthy Mind Program (HMP): Oftentimes when individuals are dealing with chronic physiological illness, chronic pain, and/or the physical aftermath of a traumatic accident, psychological issues can develop. Many individuals dealing with these physical stressors can become depressed, anxious, and have difficulty adjusting to life changes. Our clinical psychologists interview patients and conduct diagnostic evaluations. When appropriate, NYS Licensed Psychologists provide individual and/or family psychotherapy. We focus on providing patients with emotional support. We help our clients to implement behavior modification programs, in an effort to improve their quality of life. We aim to help our clients modify unhealthy patterns of thought. Our psychologists introduce patients to relaxation techniques and work on sleep difficulties when necessary. Our psychologists work on medical compliance issues. We collaborate with physicians and other specialists to develop and implement treatment and intervention programs that patients can understand and comply with.
